Anyways, yes, Xir'ag. Been a long time again since I drew him. I think his eyes just keep on growing. Is it a good or a bad thing?

Spring

Doesn't look exactly like that here yet... =P There's still some snow on the ground and the lakes are frozen, but it's definitely spring. ♥

For some reason my artblock is worse than ever. I haven't drawn anything in a long long long time and have no ideas what to draw if I wanted to. ;_; Hopefully the urge for art returns in the summer. Until then, I am sewing, knitting and crocheting new summer clothes. =P

The girl is fierce!

Lisbet Salander, the coolest female character in a book/movie in... ever!
I've been planning painting her for ages, years even, but the sketches were never good enough to finish. And then one day I just started making this like a woman possessed. XD

It's not the movie version, though I completely and utterly adore Noomi Rapace's version of Lisbet. (kyaaah, Noomi! ♥), I wanted to make my own version how I saw her when I read the books.
The story being "The millenium Trilogy" with the books/movies:
1) The girl with the dragon tattoo (the original name: Men who hate women)
2) The girl who played with fire
3) The girl who kicked the hornet's nest.

This was supposed to be Drizzt Do'Urden. When Sajore didn't leave me alone I agreed to paint him instead. It was gonna be a really happy picture. And then he just glared... like THAT. Ugh, that vampire is sooooo irritating. :P But I just cannot stop painting him. Waaah!

Rawrrrrrrrr

I'm getting my fourth tattoo tomorrow. It's gonna be a tribal lion... I've been feeling lion'ish, which should explain this picture. XD
... I used a reference, because I'm not that good painting animals. I tried to make this look really artistic and not so realistic, but I don't think I succeeded in that.

My arm hurts and I can't paint that well, waaaah... so I kind of gave up on this too early maybe. Then again, I never planned for this painting to be anything but a little doodle to satisfy my lion-urge.

Now off to sleep, have to wake early to tomorrow to be pricked by a thousands needles and black ink, haha! XD

Cancan-demon

So yeah, I drew more women. XD This is a faery/demon/thingie with burlesque/cybergoth inspired clothes. It all started from the urge to paint hair. I did this for 4 days... it seems that I just take longer and longer to finish a piece. I do hope it shows too. ^^;

This is a little frustrating when I really want to draw stuff, a lot, but then when I do, it's something like... animals or women or scenery. Nothing hot! And yesterday when I ashed in frustration of my boyfriend what I should draw because I had no ideas, he said "draw Trigun porn with Wolfwood and Vash".

HAHA! XDDDD

Thank goodness Ktiraam gave me one of her drawings for colouring, hurraaaa! Now I have something to do while I try to sketch something not so completely weird. Maybe some Trigun, hmmm. ;D

Music

I... this is gonna sound so weird and stupid, but oh well: I just started to listen to music again.

I realized that during the last year, somewhere along the way, I had completely stopped listening to music. Some might wonder how I could, but I think it has something to do with being depressed. I mean, I listen to audiobooks allll the time. But I had not listened to music in months, maybe even over a year. I had no urge to do so, so I didn't. But, last week I put on my iTunes and made a list of "dancemusic", "Soundtracks" and one with "ballads". And I almost cried while listening to one of my favourite songs, omg it felt so good to hear it again!

... While making this picture, I had my "ballads" list on. And I really think it shows. Actually, after starting to listen to music again, I have begun to wonder if I've been painting so little just because I haven't been listening to music. Music makes so many emotions and without emotions there really is very little inspiration and so, no art.
But now there is, art and music! I've finished 4 paintings this last week. And been listening to music. Hehe-he... ^^;

Happy Friends day

Valentine's day is translated "Ystävänpäivä" in Finnish, which makes it Friends day. I think this translation has changed the whole meaning of the day here. We celebrate it, not with our partners alone, but with everyone who are special and dear to us, our friends.
We buy gifts for friends and family or eat all together. Of course lovers wish happy friends day for each other too and can make up special plans, but that's just one way to celebrate it.

I like this way a lot more. The original valentines day makes you feel lonely if you're a single, and that's not at all nice. It's much nicer to celebrate all together. ^_^

Lately I've become sort of a hermit. I spend a lot of time alone, doing stuff just by myself. But I still think about my friends, they are dear to me and I miss them badly. Time spent with friends is always a cheer up, a happy moment. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ So Happy friends day for everyone. ^__^
